Group Financial Accountant
Salary: £60,000-£65,000 (+ bonus and benefits)

What you'll do:
  • Prepare the Group’s externally reported consolidated financial statements using data from the consolidation system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Draft key financial disclosures for inclusion in interim and full-year reports, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Perform complex Group-level calculations such as earnings per share (EPS) and goodwill impairment tests by applying robust cashflow models.
  • Provide essential documentation and support during quarterly reviews and annual audits, addressing audit-related queries promptly and thoroughly.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes for smaller operating markets by conducting analytical reviews of reported information.
  • Ensure completion of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls for smaller operating entities, identifying areas for improvement while maintaining compliance with internal policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the Financial Reporting & Compliance team as well as Senior Leadership on key group reporting activities.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects including mergers & acquisitions, debt issuances, and other strategic initiatives as required by the business.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders across different levels and geographies to ensure effective communication and delivery of objectives.
  • Maintain high standards of integrity in all tasks undertaken, consistently striving for excellence in every aspect of your work.
What you bring:
  • A university degree coupled with Chartered Accountant status from a recognised body such as ACA or ACCA (or international equivalent), ensuring strong foundational knowledge in accountancy principles.
  • Recent experience within a Big 4 firm or similar environment, ideally newly qualified with hands-on audit and accounts preparation or review exposure involving larger clients.
  • Proven understanding of IFRS standards along with advanced consolidation accounting skills applicable to listed companies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel (including functions, pivot tables, data analysis) and Word—for regular use in financial reporting tasks.
  • Sound knowledge regarding application of internal controls frameworks such as SOX or similar regulatory requirements within multinational environments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with unwavering commitment to accuracy throughout all deliverables.
  • Analytical mindset paired with natural curiosity; adept at problem-solving within complex financial scenarios.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders across multiple locations and seniority levels.
  • Self-motivated approach allowing independent management of tasks while thriving within a collaborative team setting; consistently upholding high standards of integrity.
