An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a highly respected organisation in Luton. This role offers the chance to take full ownership of the financials for selected Fixed Base Operations (FBOs), providing insight, accuracy, and meaningful support across financial reporting. You’ll be part of a collaborative finance team that values development, inclusion, and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities
As a Management Accountant, you’ll be responsible for the financial oversight of selected UK-based operational sites. You’ll work closely with both the finance department and the operations teams at each location, producing accurate reports, driving variance analysis, and acting as a key partner to the wider business.

  • Full ownership of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet for allocated FBOs.

  • Preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial reporting.

  • Variance analysis against budget with supporting commentary and insights.

  • Monthly income statement review and reconciliation of key financial lines.

  • Production and review of balance sheet reconciliations in coordination with the Shared Service team.

  • Maintain and improve internal controls at site level, ensuring processes are efficient and compliant.

  • Visit sites periodically to build strong relationships, improve controls, and identify any financial or operational inefficiencies.

  • Lead on various ad-hoc projects and analysis requests as directed by the UK Finance Manager.

  • Serve as the internal system (BPC) contact for finance, contributing to improvements in credit control and billing processes.

  • Collaborate with operational managers to improve financial understanding and drive better business performance.

  • Support audit processes, group tax reporting packs, and statutory account submissions.

  • Handle aspects of VAT, inter-company charges, sales invoicing accuracy, and compliance checks.

  • Provide coaching and peer support to junior members of the finance team when needed.

What We’re Looking For
Commercially minded Management Accountant who’s confident and detail-focused. You’ll be analytical and structured thinking, with the ability to distil complex financial data into actionable insights.

The successful candidate will:

  • Bring experience preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • A proactive approach to stakeholder engagement, both finance and non-finance.

  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.

  • Display confidence communicating financial data clearly and constructively.

  • Highly organised, able to plan and prioritise across multiple workstreams.

  • A solid understanding of credit control, invoice processing, and general ledger maintenance.

  • Strong Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs).

  • Confident with ERP systems (experience with Sage 50, Sage 200, Oracle or similar would be advantageous).

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
