Management Accountant 6 month FTC Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 Location: London (Hybrid)

A leading hospitality business is seeking a Management Accountant to join their respected finance team on a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to become a specialist in a key area of the profit and loss account, while also gaining valuable experience in business partnering with a division that is experiencing significant growth.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a dedicated section of the income statement across the group, ensuring all financial data is recorded accurately and communicated clearly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Deliver timely and precise financial information to various teams within the business, enabling informed decisions that drive performance.
  • Partner closely with operational teams to provide insightful analysis and support, fostering effective collaboration between finance and other departments.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports that guide strategic business decisions and highlight key trends or areas for improvement.
  • Calculate and post monthly journals to ensure accurate reflection of business performance in line with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts regularly to safeguard company assets and maintain robust financial controls.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial support for both operations and head office functions as required by evolving business needs.
  • Participate actively in special financial analysis projects that contribute to ongoing process improvements or address emerging challenges.
  • Work alongside budget holders for your assigned P&L area, assisting with budgeting processes, resolving monthly queries, and handling ad hoc requests efficiently.
  • Contribute meaningfully to group-wide budgeting and forecasting exercises, helping identify potential risks or opportunities within the profit and loss account.

What you bring:

  • Multi-sites management account experience (essential), ideally within the hospitality sector. Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field that demonstrates your foundational knowledge.
  • Are recently qualified or actively working towards completion of a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent), showing your commitment to professional development.
  • Demonstrate advanced Excel skills that enable you to analyse large datasets efficiently and produce clear financial reports.
  • Possess excellent communication abilities that allow you to consult effectively with colleagues at all levels and explain complex concepts simply.
  • Have proven experience improving processes or constructively challenging existing practices for better outcomes within finance functions.
  • Display an inquisitive mindset with a natural curiosity about how things work and a willingness to ask questions when needed.
  • Show adaptability by thriving in environments where priorities can shift quickly due to business growth or change initiatives.
  • Exhibit high integrity, reliability, and resilience when working under pressure or facing tight deadlines.
  • Are known for your collaborative approach as both an independent contributor and supportive team member who values shared success.
