Junior Group Financial Analyst

What you'll do:
As a Junior Group Financial Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting the production of accurate group financial reports while developing your technical skills within a nurturing environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with month-end closings, contributing to budgeting exercises, maintaining key financial models, and preparing insightful analyses for management review. You will work closely with colleagues across various departments, building strong relationships that enable effective information sharing. By participating in process improvements and supporting audit activities, you will gain valuable exposure to best practices in group finance.
- Assist with the preparation of group financial reports by gathering data from multiple sources and ensuring accuracy in all submissions.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes by collaborating closely with other members of the finance team to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities by providing detailed analysis on variances and trends across different business units.
- Help maintain financial models used for group reporting, updating assumptions as required under supervision from senior analysts.
- Participate in the reconciliation of intercompany transactions, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis as requested by management, presenting findings in a clear and concise manner suitable for non-financial stakeholders.
- Assist with internal audits by compiling necessary documentation and responding to queries from auditors in a timely fashion.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to gather relevant information needed for consolidated group accounts.
- Support process improvement initiatives within the finance function by identifying areas for greater efficiency or accuracy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards and company policies to ensure compliance in all reporting activities.
What you bring:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting, economics or a related field is essential for this position.
- Some experience within a finance or accounting function.
- Excellent numerical skills combined with strong attention to detail are crucial for producing accurate reports and analyses.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and basic formulae is expected as these tools are used daily.
- Strong interpersonal skills are important for building positive relationships with colleagues across different teams within the organisation.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities are needed when presenting findings or explaining complex information to non-financial stakeholders.
