Finance Manager (12 month FTC) Salary: £90-100k Location: London

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a prestigious FMCG organisation at their London head office on a 12 month FTC basis. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial management, reporting, and control of the group’s central departments and legal entities. You will play a crucial part in ensuring robust financial governance, delivering accurate reporting, and driving effective budget management across all central functions.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee the financial management of all departments and legal entities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for central functions, supporting transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgets for multiple departments, providing detailed variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard assets and ensure integrity of financial data across all central operations.
  • Act as a key point of contact between finance teams and corporate stakeholders, fostering open communication and understanding of financial matters.
  • Provide expert advice on complex accounting issues, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and best practices within the organisation.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of four direct reports, encouraging professional development and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal audit teams to facilitate regular reviews of processes and controls, addressing any identified risks or weaknesses promptly.
  • Support strategic projects by delivering high-quality financial insight that informs business planning and resource allocation decisions.
  • Drive process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness to stakeholder needs.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations within a large corporate or group environment with multiple departments or legal entities.
  • Proven track record in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Strong background in budgeting processes including preparation, monitoring, variance analysis, and reporting for diverse business units.
  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining effective internal controls that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience leading small teams with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and fostering professional development among direct reports.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including internal audit, risk management, HR, IT, procurement or other central services.
  • Advanced proficiency in using financial systems (such as SAP or Oracle) alongside strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • A recognised accountancy qualification (such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is essential for this position along with up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS.
  • A keen eye for detail combined with an analytical mindset that supports proactive identification of risks or opportunities within complex datasets.
