A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team based in Oldham. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced business-to-business environment and is passionate about driving results in credit management.
The successful candidate will take ownership of a client portfolio, proactively chasing outstanding invoices and ensuring payments are collected within agreed terms. Daily responsibilities will include making customer contact by phone and email, resolving invoice, PO, and POD queries, and maintaining clean and accurate account ledgers. Regular customer meetings may be required in collaboration with the sales and invoicing teams, particularly for high-value clients.
This role requires a strong communicator who can confidently interact at all levels, both internally and externally. Applicants must be organised, able to prioritise tasks effectively, and comfortable working under pressure to meet monthly and quarterly cash collection targets. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative are essential.
To be considered, candidates should have at least five years of credit control experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. A qualification (or working toward a qualification) with the Institute of Credit Management would be advantageous.
