Credit Control Team Leader
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Credit Team Leader to join a dynamic Finance team based in Oldham. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily performance of the Credit Team while actively managing your own ledger. The main focus of the role is to maximise cash collections within agreed payment terms, reduce aged debt, and effectively manage credit risk across the business.

This is a key role within the department, offering hybrid working to support a positive work-life balance. You’ll be responsible for overseeing the daily performance of the Credit Team while actively managing your own ledger. The main focus of the role is to maximise cash collections within agreed payment terms, reduce aged debt, and effectively manage credit risk across the business.
As Credit Team Leader, you will act as the first point of escalation for the team and provide support to the Credit Control Manager by stepping in as deputy when required. You’ll conduct regular ledger reviews, set performance targets with the team, and ensure follow-through on agreed actions. Achieving monthly and quarterly collection goals and driving a reduction in overdue debt will be key objectives. Additionally, you will play a vital role in mentoring and training team members to help them develop and succeed.
This role requires strong relationship-building skills, as you’ll be expected to maintain clear, professional communication with both internal colleagues and external customers. You will ensure that statements and dunning letters are issued promptly, oversee the team’s use of third-party debt collection portals, and make sure all reporting is completed accurately and on time. Your ideas for continuous process improvement will be welcomed and encouraged.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background within Credit Control. Expierenced Credit Controllers who are looking to make a step up in their career are considered.
