An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Accounts Payable Assistant to join a global organisation in South Manchester. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact, shaping a world of trust and security for all. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices efficiently, ensuring prompt payments to suppliers, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do:
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, your role will be pivotal in maintaining efficient financial operations within the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing supplier invoices, resolving queries, and ensuring prompt payments. You'll collaborate closely with various operational teams to address any discrepancies in purchase orders or supplier invoices. Your commitment to providing excellent customer service will be key in building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. With your keen attention to detail, you'll ensure accuracy in all transactions, contributing significantly to the smooth running of the finance department.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to provide outstanding service.
* Monitor supplier invoice mailboxes and process invoices within agreed SLAs using specific scanning system.
* Match invoices with receipted Purchase Orders accurately.
* Identify and resolve purchase order and supplier invoice mismatches by collaborating with operations.
* Address supplier issues such as missing purchase order numbers or incorrect company details.
* Submit weekly supplier BACS runs and reconcile monthly supplier statements in line with KPIs.
* Maintain Accounts Payable generic mailboxes and take ownership of assigned suppliers/entities.
* Ensure effective escalation of issues and work towards achieving service level targets.
* Perform ad-hoc duties as needed.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Accounts Payable Assistant role brings a wealth of experience in accounts payable roles. Your customer-focused approach combined with your ability to handle queries efficiently makes you an asset in any team setting. Your strong communication skills enable you to interact effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers. You have proven your ability to manage priorities and work within tight deadlines without compromising on accuracy or efficiency. Your problem-solving abilities coupled with your intermediate Excel skills equip you well for handling high volumes of transactions swiftly.
* Previous experience in Accounts Payable is essential.
* Customer-focused approach, with the ability to handle internal and external queries efficiently.
* A collaborative team player with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines.
* Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
* Capable of processing high volumes of transactions quickly and efficiently.
