The organisation is committed to providing flexible working opportunities, ongoing training, and a welcoming environment that encourages professional growth and personal development. If you are looking for a position where your expertise will be appreciated and your career can flourish, this could be the perfect next step.

What you'll do:

As a Payroll Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processes for employees across the UK. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing end-to-end payroll cycles, addressing queries from staff members with empathy and professionalism, and collaborating with various internal teams such as HR and Time and Attendance. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations while preparing accurate reports for management. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills, as you will be relied upon to foster positive relationships within the team. Your proactive approach will help identify areas for improvement, making a meaningful contribution to both operational excellence and employee satisfaction.

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls for UK-based employees with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring all payments are made on time.
  • Manage payroll-related queries from employees and resolve any discrepancies promptly while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws, particularly those relating to Ireland and HMRC regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Time and Attendance team in the UK to guarantee timely submission of accurate information required for payroll processing.
  • Work in partnership with local HR teams to ensure seamless communication and resolution of any payroll issues or concerns.
  • Contribute positively to overall team goals by supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge as needed to achieve collective results.
  • Prepare, review, and submit detailed reports as required by management or regulatory bodies, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in line with data protection policies, ensuring sensitive information is handled responsibly.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within payroll operations and share suggestions with the wider team for consideration.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay informed about changes in legislation or best practices relevant to payroll.

What you bring:

To excel as a Payroll Advisor, you will bring proven experience managing payroll processes within a large organisation using SAP Payroll or similar systems. Your background should include thorough familiarity with UK tax legislation as it applies to payroll functions, along with practical knowledge of HMRC requirements. You will have developed strong analytical abilities through previous roles requiring meticulous attention to detail—skills which enable you to spot errors quickly before they become issues. Your ability to communicate clearly means you can explain complex matters simply when assisting colleagues or answering questions from employees. A genuine commitment to teamwork is essential; you thrive when collaborating closely with others towards common goals. Adaptability is key as well—you remain calm under pressure during busy periods while always prioritising accuracy. Above all else, your sense of responsibility ensures confidential information is treated respectfully at all times.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in using SAP Payroll software for processing complex payrolls efficiently and accurately.
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK payroll tax laws, procedures, and HMRC regulations gained through hands-on experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail that ensures all calculations are correct and discrepancies are swiftly identified and resolved.
  • Excellent customer service abilities combined with clear communication skills when dealing with employee queries or concerns.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, enabling effective data analysis and reporting.
  • A collaborative mindset that supports teamwork while contributing positively towards shared objectives within the department.
  • Proactive attitude towards problem-solving coupled with adaptability in responding to changing priorities or urgent requests.
  • Experience working effectively in environments where deadlines must be met without compromising quality or compliance standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information or financial data.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training opportunities aimed at keeping skills current amidst evolving industry standards.
