Part-Time Payroll Specialist

A successful organisation in Bedfordshire is seeking a Part-Time Payroll Specialist to join their team on 3 months temporary contract for 20 hours per week. The Payroll includes 50 employee's monthly. The role includes free parking. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with significant payroll experience who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Job Title – Part-Time Payroll Specialist (20 hrs per week)
Rate - £17-£20 per hour (paye)
Contract Length – 3 months
Location – Bedford
Working Pattern – Onsite

Job Responsibilities

  • Support audit activities by acting as the primary contact for all payroll-related testing and explanations during internal and external audits for your assigned countries.
  • Ensure compliance with company pay policies, audit guidelines, local government regulations, and monitor regulatory changes to guarantee correct application by payroll vendors.
  • Work diligently with local HR teams to input accurate payroll and HR data into relevant systems while maintaining up-to-date records for earning and deduction adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Finance Partners to ensure that payroll outputs are correctly reflected in financial statements through regular reconciliation processes.
  • Interpret garnishments, levies, child support orders and coordinate their processing with payroll vendors to ensure legal compliance.
  • Manage data entry responsibilities between HRIS and payroll systems while supporting data conversion projects as required.

Experience Required

  • Significant experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Experience with the systems Opera or Pegasus
  • Proven accounting reconciliation skills enable you to accurately match payroll outputs with financial records while identifying discrepancies swiftly.
