  3. Manage the recognition of fixed assets and prepare monthly reconciliations for relevant entities to maintain precise asset records.
  4. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations by working day five each month, ensuring all transactions are accounted for accurately.
  5. Compile monthly intercompany reconciliation schedules, investigate variances, and follow up appropriately to resolve discrepancies.
  6. Oversee the monthly timesheet process including data management and recharges across various teams.
  7. Post all month-end journals and conduct thorough balance sheet reviews covering debtors, creditors, work-in-progress balances, and more.
  8. Produce monthly/quarterly management accounts as well as recurring annual statutory financial statements for first-level finance review.
  9. Act as a key point of contact during external audits by preparing lead schedules, providing documentation, posting journals, and liaising with auditors.
  10. Prepare VAT returns on a monthly/quarterly basis, manage payments/reconciliations, maintain VAT entity summaries, and liaise with internal tax teams.

The Ideal Candidate

  1. Demonstrable experience managing day-to-day finance transactions and accounting processes across multiple entities within a corporate environment.
  2. Proven ability to balance project-based activities alongside regular monthly/quarterly cycles generated by your team or line manager.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable you to discuss finance matters effectively at all levels within the business.
  4. A collaborative approach that fosters teamwork with both finance colleagues and wider business stakeholders.
  5. Strong Excel skills including proficiency with PIVOT tables, VLOOKUPs, and other formulas essential for effective data analysis.
  6. Track record of challenging established processes constructively to identify efficiencies and implement improvements in working practices.
  7. Ability to learn quickly from new experiences and apply insights across different projects or entities as needed.
  8. Proactive mindset that anticipates queries or issues before they arise - flagging concerns early for resolution.
  9. Exceptional prioritisation skills allowing you to manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  10. Understanding of transactional details combined with the capacity to step back and see the bigger picture when making decisions.
