ACCOUNTANT Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Location: London Our client is seeking a qualified or part-qualified Accountant to join their team in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Head of Tax and Corporate Reporting, and other members of the department to assist in the development and implementation of policy on issues concerning financial and wider corporate reporting.

Responsibilities:

As an Accountant, your role will be pivotal in shaping the financial and corporate reporting policies. You will lead on key issues that are particularly important to UK insurers, including both international and domestic matters. Your ability to formulate persuasive policy initiatives backed by solid evidence will be crucial in enhancing the reputation of the industry. You will also engage with stakeholders both within and outside the organisation, promoting the aims and objectives of our client. Your contributions will extend beyond your immediate role, supporting other members of the Regulation department when required.

  1. Lead on financial and wider corporate reporting issues of particular interest to UK insurers.
  2. Formulate and communicate persuasive policy initiatives supported by robust evidence.
  3. Engage with stakeholders both internally within the organisation and externally.
  4. Support on insurers’ tax issues as relating to financial reporting requirements.
  5. Promote the aims and objectives of the organisation.
  6. Contribute to the activities of the wider Regulation Directorate, staff and Member Groups.

The Ideal Candidate:

As an Accountant, you bring a wealth of knowledge from the financial services industry. The coursework in accounting qualification (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or similar) equip you with the necessary skills to excel in this role. Your excellent analytical abilities enable you to adopt an evidence-based approach to policy making. You possess strong communication skills which allow you to articulate complex financial reporting issues effectively. Your strong analytical, numerical and technical capabilities enable you to deal with multi-layered issues efficiently. Furthermore, your enthusiasm for building effective relationships will be instrumental in liaising with members and external stakeholders.

  1. Part-qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or similar).
  2. Knowledge of the financial services industry.
  3. Excellent analytical skills and an evidence-based approach to policy making.
  4. Ability to write articulately on relevant financial reporting, wider corporate reporting and other regulatory issues.
  5. Strong analytical, numerical and technical capabilities.
  6. Enthusiasm for building effective relationships with members and external stakeholders.
