Strategy:
• We need to position the events effectively and differentiate company from the competition; you are responsible for mapping the global energy market value chain and existing content to enable the business to fully analyse and strategically position the current series and future company events and products.
Business:
• In alignment with the overall company business plans you will help to assess and produce a full market and product positioning plan (up, mid, downstream and immediate adjacent sector events) to establish a clear strategy to support our content positioning, audience retention/acquisition and product evolution.
Content Strategy Development:
• As a continuation of the business mapping you will provide an overarching, structured content and programme format strategy to support current and future events; keeping commercial, global and regional needs firmly in focus. This should be in line with the wider energy portfolio content strategy.
• You will assist in targeting key industry stakeholders (IOC’s, NOC’s, Ministers, Global Leaders) to positively influence them in regards to the value/positioning of the events and the value that company energy events provides, driving their attendance and advocacy across the portfolio.
• Digital content and development of the community is a key aspect of the portfolio growth and market engagement plan and your strategy should encompass this to extend our reach to connect our communities cross-portfolio.
Product & Team Development & Evolution:
• You will propose and implement a clear structure and process to manage the governing body members, chairing and succession planning ensuring both continuity and the originality of the programmes.
• The delivery of content and tangible return for delegates is key to the success of the business, therefore you will review the latest conference technology trends, conduct primary audience research and incorporate findings into delivering a marketing leading product with content that can be repurposed.
• You will develop a clear schedule, including key content timelines, throughout the project cycle and ensure that they are met and content goes out to market as quickly and effectively as possible.
• Team building responsibilities: recruitment/training/programme/production guidance/creating culture of best practice.
Sponsorship revenue opportunities:
• Monetisation of other developmental and launch programmes: online, Roundtables, Diversity & Inclusion initiatives, Technical streams etc.
• Key account management and customer relationship development will play a substantial part in the strategy to growing and establishing the division as a leading company event portfolio.
• You will also build and develop relationships internally across the company global energy team to help share best practice, understand client needs/synergy across various event content in relation to key clients and market dynamics to help drive revenues.
Product & Event Management:
• Writing full plan in conjunction with all stakeholders (commercial, marketing, operations, external) to include all aspects of the conference event cycle and managing the day-to-day aspects of the conference programmes.
• Liaising with Conference Chair and Governing Body members, as well as ensuring that these advisory groups remain fresh, relevant and advocate widely for the event.
• All aspects of conference correspondence pre- and post-conference.
• Speaker liaison – all conference correspondence and management of a speaker manager wherever relevant.
• Arranging speaker dinners and VIP meetings to facilitate the business aspects of the conference.
• To assist with content-related queries from potential delegates and assist in adopting positive actions to sell delegate places and sponsorship.
• Liaison with the marketing team for production within deadline and budgets of all conference marketing materials including pre- and post-conference documentation. In particular: the programme must be completed in time to support the delegate sales marketing campaign and sales outreach and there should be a focus on content-led marketing.
• Working with the operations and management team for the selection of venues prior to each conference, aligned to the needs/requirements of the format of the programme, as well as sourcing/briefing suppliers including audio visual facilities and walkthrough plans.

• Ability to work across content, sales, marketing and operations teams.
• To simultaneously manage a multitude of strategies across international portfolios.
• Keen attention to detail and an ability to multi-task.
• Effective communication skills both externally and internally.
