Python Engineer - Alzheimer Drug Discovery Seed BioTech

Our client is a seed stage TechBio company building a platform solution for identifying drug targets for neurological diseases with in-vitro validation. The founders have track records building successful series C HealthTech, and have just raised £2m pre-seed stage funding last week. * This role is to join the business as employee No.3 along with other 5 first hires. * 5 days per week in Victoria House Soho London

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain pipeline orchestration and data infrastructure
• Develop internal APIs and tooling to support scientific workflows
• Implement data validation, lineage tracking, and audit logging
• Build knowledge graph infrastructure integrating public biological databases
• Own deployment: containerisation, CI/CD, and cloud environment

Requirements:

• Strong Python backend engineering, particularly for data-intensive applications
• Experience with workflow orchestration
• Cloud infrastructure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience building and maintaining REST or GraphQL APIs
• Strong software engineering fundamentals: testing, documentation, version control

Nice to Have

• Graph database experience (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune)
• Familiarity with public biological databases (Ensembl, OpenTargets, ChEMBL, UniProt)
• Interest in or exposure to drug discovery or computational biology
