Senior Java Engineer - Foreign Exchange

Our client is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join their dynamic Foreign Exchange Technology team. This plays a critical role for the wider investment bank, looking after currency exchange and associated risks. Whilst this role is focused within the Java space, you will also be given the opportunity to work on front end skills as well as the big data space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • E2E design and development across Java
  • Implement subsystems and protocols based on your own designs
  • Engage with the wider team in testing, reviews and design discussions
  • Work with the wider team to write and solve problems working with technical and non-technical business stakeholders
  • Learn and work across the FX business becoming an expert in the field
  • Work across production fixes and improvements

Key Requirements:

  • Highly skilled across Java, Linux and cloud solutions
  • Experience across front end/full stack advantageous
  • Experience working in distributed teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience across google cloud
  • Experience with Experience across oracle, kafka, Javascript
