Data Engineer

Robert Walters are exited to be exclusively supporting Cingulait, a business at the forefront of quantitative investing, in their search for Data Engineer to join their team in London.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology designed to navigate through alternative datasets and uncover predictive real-time signals on expected momentum or volatility in financial markets. Their office is in Kings Cross and they are looking for the Data Engineer to be in the office 3 days per week. As they trade the US Market, 2 times per week you’ll need to work alternative hours (11am to 8:30 PM)

What you'll do:

As a Data Engineer at Cingulait, your primary responsibility will be to continue building the proprietary system that communicates daily with data providers and trading platforms. You will design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines from various sources to ensure seamless data flow. Your expertise in automating data processes using scripts, APIs, and orchestration tools will be crucial in maintaining their fully automated operations. Collaborating closely with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders will be key to understanding and meeting data needs. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to discuss business development opportunities and system upgrades with the external advisers.

With a small team of 6 people, you won’t be just another number. You’ll play a huge part in the growth of the business and be a key player moving forwards.

What you’ll need:

• 3-4 years as a Data/software Engineer (any industry)
• Experience with Cloud Technologies (GCP is preferred)
• Demonstrated expertise in building greenfield projects from the ground up and improving existing codebases
• Strong Experience building / maintaining Data pipelines
• Strong proficiency in Python programming

Preferred but not essential:

• STEM Master’s degree from a reputable institution
• Familiarity with React/Javascript to build and enhance dashboard frontend
