Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Application Support Engineer to join their dynamic team in London. This role offers an attractive salary range of £40,000 - £50,000. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting business process planning, managing and maintaining systems, and contributing to project work within the System Management Team of the Business Application Team. What you'll do:


As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting business processes within the System Management Team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing and maintaining systems, contributing to project work that may require some business analysis, and liaising with various stakeholders. You will also be tasked with carrying out system operations under the guidance of a System Administrator. Additionally, you will plan and execute system access control measures while also handling system account modifications. Your role will extend to providing support to the Assistant Manager of Business Processing Group and the Head of IT.


* Support business process planning in the System Management Team of the Business Application Team.
* Manage and maintain systems within the team.
* Contribute to project work which may involve some business analysis.
* Liaise with IT Management, Branch and users, ITIFS, Head Office and outside parties.
* Carry out system operation, maintenance and management under the supervision of System Administrator.
* Plan and carry out system access control including organizing IT security training for users.
* Carry out system account creation, change and deletion under the supervision of Security Administrator.
* Support the Assistant Manager of Business Processing Group and the Head of IT.


What you bring:


The ideal candidate for this Application Support Engineer role is educated to degree level with proven experience in supporting systems & applications across all areas from front to back. You are confident when dealing with traders and middle office across multiple asset classes. A baseline understanding of banking services and operational processes is essential for this role. You have experience working with .NET application suite and SQL Server environments. Your ability to implement code changes in .NET, SQL, Python, and PowerShell sets you apart. You possess excellent fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills, and your interpersonal skills make you a team player.

* Confidence in dealing with traders and middle office across multiple asset classes
* Understanding of banking services and operational processes
* .NET application suite and SQL Server environments experience
