Our client is on a mission to revolutionise London's business fibre network, and they're looking for a Network Support Engineer (2nd Line) to join their team. What you'll do:

As a Network Support Engineer (2nd Line), your role will be pivotal in ensuring all clients receive exceptional customer service during all contact with the Service Desk. You'll be responsible for providing technical support, monitoring customer network equipment, and managing multiple ongoing issues. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to interact effectively with different teams and customers. Your willingness to visit sites as required and respond to issues outside of usual business hours demonstrates your commitment to providing exceptional operational service.

  • Provide technical support to customers and respond to network issues via email or phone.
  • Monitor customer network equipment and ongoing tickets.
  • Coordinate with different teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide concierge-level support throughout the customer onboarding process.
  • Manage multiple ongoing issues simultaneously.
  • Communicate effectively within the team, the wider organisation, and customers.
  • Visit company POPs and DCs as required.
  • Respond to network and customer issues outside of usual business hours when necessary.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Network Support Engineer (2nd Line) role brings a wealth of technical experience along with strong project management capabilities. Your networking fundamentals knowledge coupled with your excellent customer-facing skills will be crucial in this role. You're a quick learner with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Your ability to coordinate between multiple teams will ensure positive results. Being proactive and adaptable, you can work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Certifications (desirable but not required): CCNA, Network+, JNCIA etc.
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Switches, Routers).
  • Project Management capabilities.
  • Strong customer-facing skills (phone, in-person).
  • Excellent written communication.
  • Quick learner with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple teams to achieve positive results.
  • Proactive and adaptable, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • 3 to 5 years of technical experience or previous Network Support Engineer experience.
  • VoIP expertise (desirable but not required)
  • MSP experience (desirable, not required)
  • Previous fibre experience (industry or installation desirable but not required)
