Desktop Support Engineer

Desktop Support Engineer – 6 month FTC Location: London – fully on-site (5 days per week in the office) Salary: £75,000 per annum Ideal experience: * 4-8 years’ Tech Support experience – Financial Services * Tradefloor experience including market data (Bloomberg) * AD, O365, Citrix, SCCM, Mobile device support, Networking

Department overview:

Our Technology Infrastructure team operates globally and is responsible for every aspect of the firm's platforms. This ranges from our EUC/Office environments to Trading and Core service Co-Location Data Centres, and extends to Public Cloud, delivering top-tier technology services to a dynamic and demanding Trading organisation.

Role overview:

Predominantly involved in the EUC environments, user support and maintenance in our London and remote regions in Europe, Middle East, Asia and Americas.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the standard Windows desktop environment and current working experience in an Enterprise Front Office / Banking / Trading environment.

There may be a requirement to work shifts in order to cover trading times, although the hours covered are not expected to be outside of UK 7am – 7pm, with occasional weekend work.

Key Capabilities / Knowledge

Fantastic interpersonal skills and enjoys interacting with people and providing first class service
Desktop & Trade Floor support experience working in a structured or financial institution within a dynamic and fast paced operational support environment.
A rounded engineer with knowledge across the infrastructure stack and the ability to work and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical people

Core Skills

Trade floor experience
Microsoft Active Directory user / group maintenance
Microsoft Windows 10 Operating systems
Experience of working with Virtual Desktop Environments (Citrix beneficial)
Microsoft Office 2019, 2021 and 365 suites, including custom / 3rd party Excel add-in support.
Core understanding of TCP/IP, Networking Technologies and desk level patching
Market Data Application experience, namely Bloomberg
Mobile device support experience (Blackberry Work/UEM)

Poly / Microsoft Teams video conferencing
Working knowledge of SCCM / Application Virtualisation and / or similar technologies
Working knowledge of current Citrix Virtual Apps / Desktop delivery environments
