Senior Help Desk Engineer (Desktop Engineer & Support)
Robert Walters has partnered with a leading global credit investment firm who are looking for a talented Senior Help Desk Engineer to join their London team. The selected candidate will be the sole IT in London and will interact with global teams.
This role is perfect for individuals looking to work with multiple technologies and have an impact as a sole IT resource. The helpdesk function act as an engineering function for IT and this role will be predominantly on the engineering side with a healthy mix of support responsibilities.
This is a hybrid role, in the office 3 days per week with a salary ranging from £50,000 – 80,000.
The ideal candidates has:
Flexibility – the selected candidate will wear multiple hats as the sole IT support in the UK
Strong engineering and support background
SCCM
Basic PowerShell required, other scripting languages are a plus
VMWare/Hyper V experience
Experience supporting senior stakeholders (VIPs)
Tech stack: Citrix (VMs), Azure, Windows 10, O365, Intune
FSLogix is a plus but not a requirement
Principal Responsibilities
Automation / scripting / software packaging & deployment to increase Help Desk efficiency
Support, troubleshoot, monitor, and document the virtual and physical desktop and laptop environment
Work with the internal development team and external vendors on integrating software onto Windows 10
Ownership and technical support of Help Desk related calls; “white glove” approach to resolution of incidents
Properly triage and escalate issues to various technical groups and vendors
Owning and overseeing engineering projects, tracking implementation, and highlighting areas for improvement
Required to be on call on an as needed basis
Qualifications/Skills
Required:
7+ years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic track record
Self-motivated, quick learner, and demonstrated ability for learning new technology
Excellent customer service skills, time management, and a strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong technical experience supporting Citrix, Azure, Intune, Windows 10, Office 365, Teams and Bloomberg
Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS administrative experience
PowerShell scripting / automation and software packaging / deployment experience
Virtual environment experience in VMware, Nutanix, or Hyper V
Windows image customization and deployment experience
Must be able to lift 40 pounds
Preferred:
Experience working for a financial firm
Experience with managing virtual desktops using FSLogix and KaceKBOX
