IT Asset Management Practitioner (Temp)
A leading global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) Practitioner to drive the transformation of its Hardware Asset Management (HAM) capability across the EMEA region. This is a key role focused on establishing robust life cycle governance, improving asset visibility, and ensuring compliance across a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
Role Responsibilities
Asset Life cycle Management
- Define and implement end-to-end hardware life cycle processes (procurement through to retirement)
- Establish and maintain accurate asset inventory data within Service Now (targeting 95%+ accuracy)
- Develop asset taxonomy, standards, and data governance practices
- Drive consistency in asset tracking, tagging, and reporting across multiple locations
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure asset management practices align with internal controls and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, SOX)
- Support internal and external audits through accurate reporting and documentation
- Enforce policies around asset ownership, usage, and secure disposal
Reporting & Optimisation
- Deliver reporting and dashboards on asset performance, compliance, and life cycle metrics
- Track KPIs such as utilisation, refresh cycles, and cost allocation
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, reuse, and efficiency improvements
Operational Collaboration
- Work closely with IT, procurement, finance, and global teams to manage asset processes
- Support regional roll outs and site-level reconciliations
- Provide training and guidance to operational teams on ITAM processes and tooling
Key Requirements
Experience
- 5+ years in IT Asset Management, Hardware Asset Management, or IT Operations
- Experience operating within large, complex enterprise environments (financial services preferred)
- Strong background managing CMDBs and asset data (ideally ServiceNow)
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of ITIL practices (Asset & Configuration Management)
- Experience with asset life cycle governance and compliance frameworks
- Ability to analyse data and drive process improvements
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- ITIL Foundation certification
- Certifications such as CHAMP or CITAM
- Experience working across global or multi-region teams
