Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Temp

My clients is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to support a large scale enterprise grade data and A* platform. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, platform operations and data infrastructure with a strong focus on reliability, automation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the reliability, availability, and performance of a large-scale data platform across multiple environments (Dev, QA, Prod)
• Apply SRE principles (SLIs/SLOs, error budgets) to continuously improve platform resilience
• Build and enhance automation tooling (primarily in Python) to reduce manual effort and improve consistency
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data and platform services
• Support release and change management, ensuring safe and controlled deployments
• Act as a senior escalation point for incidents, leading root cause analysis and remediation
• Design and manage monitoring, alerting, and observability frameworks
• Operate and optimise cloud-based data platforms (e.g. Snowflake)
• Support AI-enabled services, ensuring reliability, monitoring, and operational readiness
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams in an Agile environment
• Contribute to runbooks, documentation, and operational best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in SRE, Production Engineering, or Platform Engineering
• Strong Python scripting/automation experience
• Proven experience supporting production systems at scale
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and modern delivery practices
• Solid understanding of incident and change management
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake)
• Strong troubleshooting across application, platform, and data layers
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with data modelling or analytics platforms
• Exposure to AI/LLM tools or GenAI platforms
• Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
• Experience in Agile delivery environments
• Background in enterprise or regulated environments
• Experience supporting AI or data-driven platforms at scale
