VP - Control-M Platform SME (12M FTC)
An established global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Control-M Platform SME to join its Service Operations function. This team is responsible for delivering 24/7 operational support across infrastructure and platforms, ensuring high availability, stability, and security.This is a key role supporting a widely used enterprise scheduling platform, working closely with both application and infrastructure teams across the business.
You will act as the subject matter expert for the Control-M platform, owning its performance, stability, and strategic development. You’ll work across operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to optimise workflows, enhance automation, and drive platform improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the health and performance of the Control-M platform
- Install, configure, and upgrade servers, agents, and plugins
- Troubleshoot job failures, system errors, and performance issues within SLA
- Optimise batch workflows and reduce false alerts for platform users
- Develop and maintain a 3-year product roadmap, identifying enhancements and innovation opportunities
- Engage with stakeholders to gather and prioritise requirements
- Present platform strategy, architecture, and roadmap to senior audiences
- Drive adoption of automation and self-service capabilities
- Support DevOps integration, including CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness, including regular testing
- Lead security and vulnerability management, ensuring compliance with internal policies
- Produce and maintain technical and operational documentation
Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- Strong, hands-on experience with Control-M (v9+) across the full platform
- Solid experience with Linux and Windows environments
- Experience handling major incidents, root cause analysis, and problem management
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA) and monitoring platforms
- Exposure to automation and DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines preferred)
Regulatory & Environment
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., financial services or critical infrastructure)
- Understanding of frameworks such as GDPR, DORA, or similar
Soft Skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with a structured approach to problem solving
- Ability to work in high-pressure, business-critical environments
- Proactive, accountable, and delivery-focused
Qualifications
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Relevant industry experience in enterprise platform support
