Senior End User Computing Engineer - Contract
Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior End User Computing (EUC) Engineer to support and enhance a modern, enterprise-scale EUC environment within a global organisation. This role will focus on maintaining, optimising, and evolving modern desktop platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing end-user services.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning

Support the development and execution of the End User Computing strategy and roadmap.

Contribute to operational planning to ensure delivery of business objectives.
-
Provide technical input into platform improvements and service optimisation initiatives.
Engineering & Technical Delivery
-
Contribute to the delivery of a Modern Desktop Management strategy aligned to a growing, global business.
-
Provide 3rd line support and technical engineering across client infrastructure, including:
-
Physical endpoints (laptops/desktops)
-
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (pooled and persistent VDIs)
-
Desktop as a Service (W365 / Azure Virtual Desktop)
-

Support Windows 10 & 11 desktop delivery, including:
-
Intune & Autopilot
-
Feature update deployment
-
Patch management
-
Group Policy management
-
-
Manage and optimise Intune services including:
-
Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC)
-
Endpoint Privilege Management (EPM)
-
WUFB
-
Patch My PC
-
-
Support and engineer Citrix Virtual Desktop environments (on-prem, cloud-hosted, Citrix Cloud).

Contribute to Windows 365 build and migration activities.

Support migration to Azure AD Joined (AADJ) / Intune-managed platforms.
-
Perform application packaging and deployment (Intune, App-V, SCCM or similar).
-
Manage profile virtualisation and personalisation solutions.
-
Ensure availability, resilience, and performance of the EUC estate, including DR and backup validation.

Participate in service transition activities ensuring solutions are viable and supportable.
Service & Continuous Improvement

Proactively monitor services and conduct root cause analysis to minimise disruption.

Identify automation opportunities and drive operational efficiencies.
-
Contribute to image development, patch deployment, and security compliance.
-
Maintain accurate technical documentation including designs, procedures, and knowledge articles.

Follow ITIL-aligned change, incident, and problem management processes.

Support continuous improvement initiatives across processes, cost efficiencies, and service quality.
Stakeholder & Customer Focus

Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams.

Promote a service-oriented culture with consistent delivery against SLAs.

Provide high-quality technical advice to support informed decision-making.

Stay aligned with industry trends and emerging EUC technologies.
Required Experience & Technical Skills
Core Technical Expertise

Expert knowledge of Windows 10 & 11 enterprise desktop delivery.

Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune & Autopilot.

Strong experience managing Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace environments.

Deep understanding of:

Conditional Access

MFA

Privileged Identity Management (PIM)

Experience with Citrix Virtual Desktops (on-prem and cloud).

Experience with Windows 365 or Azure Virtual Desktop (preferred).

Strong knowledge of patch management methodologies (WUFB, Patch My PC).

Application packaging and deployment expertise.

Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell preferred).
Professional Experience
-
Experience supporting Microsoft workplace environments within large (1000+ user) global organisations.

Experience working in complex, fast-moving enterprise IT environments.
-
Background in regulated environments (Financial Services experience desirable).
-
Experience contributing to disaster recovery planning and testing.
Qualifications
-
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.

ITIL knowledge (certification desirable).
-
Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102 – Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator) preferred.
