The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Linux estate and Automation Services, delivering excellent levels of service to the business. What you'll do:

As a Linux Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within our global Technology Infrastructure team. Your role extends to Public Cloud, where you will deliver top-tier technology services to our demanding Trading organisation. In addition to meeting round-the-clock operational demands of the platforms, you will continuously evolve and transform our platforms to maintain a competitive edge that our business requires. You will leverage your skills to deliver against rapidly changing business requirements.

  • Support and maintain the Linux estate and Automation Services
  • Deliver robust solutions using leading technologies
  • Provide excellent levels of service to the business
  • Understand key business processes and how delivered solutions aid and develop the business
  • Involve oneself in critical BAU and technology service delivery elements in a time-sensitive environment
  • Innovate and implement new solutions to enhance business performance
  • Follow pre-defined scope, design, and plans to assist in implementing and supporting new and existing technology initiatives

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Linux Engineer role is an Infrastructure engineer with a broad range of skills and experience. The key requirement is Red Hat Linux expertise, but with experience of Hosted and On-Premise system integration with focus on standardisation, achieved with automation and orchestration tools. You are technology-focused and understand the need for rapid delivery whilst appreciating business constraints. You are keen to learn new technology and platforms in an enterprise trading environment and stay current in technology trends and directions.

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator/Engineer (RHCSA/RHCSE) – desirable
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server (8&9) and Container administration (Docker/K8s/Helm/Kompose/Prometheus/GitOps)
  • Experience with automation and orchestration of cross-platform services using Ansible, Jenkins, ServiceNow
  • Scripting/Programming skills in advanced Python, Bash, API’s and data structures in JSON/YAML or other – highly desirable
  • Experience in server hardware implementation, maintenance, monitoring and automation (Infrastructure as Code) with Ansible (HPE Synergy ideal)
  • Good understanding and knowledge of multi-protocol NAS (VAST), Block storage (HPE) with Fibre Channel storage solutions, and their platform integration points
  • Veritas NetBackup 10.x onwards – Operational and architectural experience
