Internal auditors – there’s a new Internal Audit Manager role with a growing, UK-headquartered group offering real ownership of the audit plan, senior stakeholder exposure and a genuine chance to shape a new Risk & Assurance function.​

My client is a growing UK HQ group in a highly regulated sector has recently created Internal Audit Manager role, reporting into a Director of Risk & Assurance and offering real ownership of the audit plan and visibility to the Board​.

The opportunity

Working directly with the Director of Risk, Assurance & Compliance, you will be the go-to internal audit specialist for the Group.

  • Plan and deliver a risk-based internal audit programme aligned to strategic objectives and regulatory expectations.

  • Lead end-to-end reviews across financial, operational and regulatory areas, from scoping and fieldwork through to reporting and follow-up.

  • Partner with process owners to agree pragmatic, commercially sensible actions and track their implementation.

  • Provide ad hoc advice on new products, processes and systems so change is “right first time”, strengthening the control environment as the business grows.

  • Prepare clear, concise reports for senior leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee, and coordinate with other assurance providers to give a joined-up view of risk.

What you’ll bring

  • Professional background in internal audit or external audit (Top 10 or similar) with strong commercial exposure and experience in regulated or complex environments.

  • Degree-educated, ideally with a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, IIA or similar).

  • Solid understanding of risk and control, governance frameworks and regulatory expectations; any exposure to ISO, FCA, GDPR or broader compliance is a plus.

  • Comfortable engaging with stakeholders across multiple functions, challenging constructively, and writing high-quality reports for senior audiences.

  • Organised, curious and pragmatic – able to juggle multiple priorities, operate in a fast-moving environment and continuously improve how things are done.
