What you'll do:
As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for implementing the machine learning life cycle, directing the work of others, and making significant individual contributions. You will be recognised as highly capable in all aspects of the machine learning life cycle. Your ability to solve complex problems and deliver high impact projects will set you apart. You will manage several competing projects concurrently, prioritising your time effectively so as not to compromise delivery. Your role will also involve engaging stakeholders, building and transferring skills and knowledge, and applying risk management and governance.
- Implementing the machine learning life cycle: building models, feature engineering, model fitting, selection, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Directing the work of others and making significant individual contributions.
- Being the technical lead on any projects worked on.
- Delivering high quality work that meets defined business requirements within agreed timeframes.
- Solving complex problems, taking a broad perspective to identify solutions.
- Managing projects independently as well as providing oversight of other data scientists’ work.

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Lead Data Scientist role will bring a wealth of experience in accessing and analysing data using SQL and Python. You will have developed and deployed GenAI applications, worked with IT delivery teams to deploy models into production, and have taken a lead role in delivering data science projects. Your ability to prioritise work in relation to likely business impact will be crucial. An undergraduate degree in a numerical subject is essential.
