Machine Learning Engineer

I am recruiting for an MLOps Engineer within a medical imaging scale up business, focusing on cancer detection.

You will play a critical role in the monitoring and maintaining of the distributed machine learning (ML) platform. You will work with exciting technologies to ensure the smooth operation of the ML infrastructure while continuously improving model training performance, deployment practices, and data management processes.


Responsibilities

  • • Monitor and maintain a distributed ML platform utilizing cloud services (Azure experience preferred), CI tools (Gitlab experience preferred), ClearML, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Terraform/OpenTofu, Python, and PyTorch.
  • • Suggest, prototype, and implement improvements to model training performance, ML lifecycle processes (e.g., data versioning), model deployment practices, and data management practices.
  • • Develop tests and CI/CD pipelines for ML repositories to ensure the reliability and scalability of ML solutions.
  • • Validate software to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of security and data privacy.
  • • Automate various aspects of the ML lifecycle, including pipelining and Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs), to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
  • • Propose, prototype, and build methods for monitoring model performance in production environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • • Continuously evaluate the latest tools and frameworks in the ML ecosystem, incorporating relevant advancements to enhance our infrastructure and workflows.


Requirements:

  • • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • • Proven experience in MLOps or DevOps roles, with a strong understanding of machine learning principles and practices.
  • • Proficiency in cloud services, CI tools, containerisation technologies (Kubernetes, Docker), infrastructure as code (Terraform/OpenTofu), Python, and PyTorch.
  • • Experience in suggesting, prototyping, and implementing improvements to ML lifecycle processes and deployment practices.
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose effective solutions.
  • • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in software development, particularly in the context of ML applications.
  • • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

This is a remote role (or Hybrid LDN) that will offer a salary of up to £90,000 per annum + a wealth of benefits.
