A scale up fintech company in Manchester city centre are looking for a machine learning engineer to join their data team to help move their models through research and production.

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be working as a part of the data team, with a primary focus on identifying, promoting, and implementing machine learning models that can benefit the company.

The role itself will involve a positive and healthy mix of researching new and exciting ways to get the most of out the data provided carrying out generative AI and predictive analytical projects. Projects we have already delivered include building a service that returns a representative APR to a customer given the details they have provided and building a vehicle identification algorithm. Projects currently underway include implementing an LLM-based assistant for the contact centre and developing an anomaly detection engine.

Some key experience for the role is as follows:
• MSc or BSc in a STEM subject or related field such as computer science or machine learning.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning frameworks, such as Keras, PyTorch and libraries such as scikit-learn.
• Experience of working in AWS cloud and SageMaker.
• Solid knowledge of cloud engineering best practices, including security, CI/CD, Github, and Infrastructure as Code (using Terraform)
• Experience with building data pipelines to transform and clean data.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
