You will be joining our Accounting domain within the global Technology division in a world-leading bank. Our domain is responsible for Product Control and providing the necessary information to the General Ledger from Transaction and Hedge Accounting. We are working to create simplified, reusable, consumable applications, data and infrastructure. All underpinned by our strategic partnership with Google and commitment to Cloud.
You will use your Software Engineering skills to support business growth through digital innovation. You will be responsible for crafting solutions to accomplish business goals with focus on quality, maintainability, compliance, and ease of testing built in from the outset. Working within a team and across teams, you will mentor and coach other team members in engineering principles, best practice, and culture.
Your key responsibilities • Writing robust, clean and efficient code using a “test-first” approach. • Working with the business and other stakeholders to define and refine requirements. • Focusing on the user experience and delivering value to our customers. • DevOps and managing Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines and production environments. • To continually learn and develop your career with support from your management team and the wider organisation.
Your skills and experience • Excellent Oracle SQL and PL/SQL coding experience within a modern software delivery environment (Agile/Lean, TDD, BDD, pair programming, CI/CD, SRE etc.) • Experience with very large databases, complex data models and robust knowledge of physical data structures and their optimisation, ideally on Exadata appliances • Strong Oracle performing tuning experience - using Real Time SQL Monitoring, the wait interface, ASH, AWR, Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control and event traces • Thorough understanding of statistical concepts and information visualisation through effective dashboards. Ideally with modern industry platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, NewRelic, Splunk or Google Cloud Operations Suite • Experience or certification on one of the major public cloud providers
