Microsoft Fabric Data Architect Rate: £700 – £750 per day IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Duration: 6 - 12 Months Location: Remote (UK-based, occasional client site visits) Start Date: July 2026 The Opportunity An leading Microsoft Gold Partner / Managed Service Provider (MSP) is rapidly expanding its Modern Data Platform practice. Due to a surge in enterprise client demand, they require an expert Microsoft Fabric Data Architect to lead multiple customer adoption and acceleration projects.
- Client Architecture Blueprints: Design enterprise-grade Fabric architectures leveraging OneLake, Medallion framework, and Direct Lake mode.
- Adoption Discovery Workshops: Lead technical discovery sessions with end-clients to map out proof-of-concepts (PoCs) and adoption roadmaps.
- Migration Strategy: Formulate migration paths from legacy systems (SQL Server, Azure Synapse, AWS) into Microsoft Fabric.
- Governance Frameworks: Establish tenant settings, capacity planning, and security models (RLS/CLS) for multi-tenant or multi-department deployments.
- Capability Upskilling: Deliver technical frameworks and best practices to the MSP engineering delivery teams.
- Fabric Implementation: Hands-on experience architecting and deploying Microsoft Fabric in production or advanced enterprise PoC environments.
- Deep Tech Stack: Technical mastery of Synapse Data Engineering, Data Factory, Delta Lake formats, and Power BI Direct Lake modelling.
- Languages: Proficiency in PySpark, SQL, and DAX.
- Client-Facing Presence: Exceptional communication skills to influence C-suite stakeholders and technical teams alike.
