BI Analyst

About the Team I’m supporting a forward thinking organisation based in Manchester. This position plays a central role in enabling smarter decisions across the business by delivering clear, consistent and actionable insights. The BI Analyst role sits within the Finance department and combines data engineering discipline with strategic insight to develop and maintain reliable data systems.

BI Analyst Duties:

• Reporting & Visualisation: Building and managing dashboards in Tableau Cloud, presenting complex datasets in a clear, accessible and actionable format.
• Data Architecture & Optimisation: Enhancing and maintaining the central data warehouse and associated ELT pipelines.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partnering with internal teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver scalable, fit-for-purpose BI solutions.
• Data Modelling: Creating robust data models by merging multiple datasets into a reliable, normalised structure ready for analysis and performance tracking.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implementing strong data assurance processes to maintain accuracy, integrity and appropriate data access controls.
• Continuous Improvement: Reviewing data structures and reporting outputs to identify opportunities for improved insight, efficiency and operational performance.
• Documentation & Roadmapping: Keeping all systems, processes and data flows clearly documented, and supporting the programme coordinator with planning future improvements.

As BI Analyst, you will have:

• Tableau: Solid commercial experience building dashboards and reports.
• SQL Skills: Confident writing and refining SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.
• Analytical Mindset: Comfortable exploring datasets, identifying trends and resolving inconsistencies.
• Communication Skills: Able to articulate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Curiosity & Accuracy: Detail-oriented, proactive, and naturally driven to improve data and processes.
• Team Orientation: Enjoys collaboration and contributing to joint problem-solving.
