An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking and analytical Data Engineer to join a dynamic team in a leading pan-European industrial platform. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about investment and real estate, and thrives in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and managing the technological part of data infrastructure, including data mining, process improvements, and building analytical tools.

What you'll do:

As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to mine and assemble large, complex sets of data from various sources. You will identify, design, and implement internal process improvements while also building the required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data using AWS and SQL technologies. Your role will also involve participating in data migration projects and building analytical tools to utilise the data pipeline. Ensuring data quality and accuracy will be crucial to your role as you implement data quality checks and governance processes. Additionally, you will assist the Research team in maintaining strategic models and updating presentations.

  • Data mining and assembling large, complex sets of data from external and internal sources
  • Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements
  • Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data using AWS and SQL technologies
  • Participating in data migration projects
  • Building analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline
  • Ensuring data quality and accuracy by implementing data quality checks, and data governance processes
  • Synthesizing information and translating it into key insights that support investment decision making
  • Assisting Research in maintaining strategic models and updating presentations

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Data Engineer position will have 1-2 years' experience in a similar role. You should be proficient in programming and data engineering tools, including SQL, Python/R. Experience with Geospatial tools such as QGIS is essential along with familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau. A strong understanding of business requirements is necessary along with an ability to spot opportunities to innovate. You should be willing to step out of your comfort zone and learn modern data engineering practices and trends. An impeccable attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to multi-task and efficiently manage your time and workload.

  • 1-2 Years experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
  • Proficiency in programming and data engineering tools, including SQL, Python/R
  • Experience with Geospatial tools such as QGIS
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau
  • Understanding of business requirements and spotting opportunities to innovate.
  • Willingness to step out of comfort zone and learn modern data engineering practices and trends.
  • Impeccable attention to detail
