Lead Data Architect

We are working with a global consulting and technology organisation who are expanding their Data & AI capability and looking to appoint a Lead Data Architect into their London team.

This is a senior, client-facing role sitting at the intersection of business, technology and data, with responsibility for shaping enterprise-scale data architecture solutions and supporting the growth of a high-performing data practice.

The Role

You will play a key role in leading complex data architecture engagements across a range of industries, working closely with senior stakeholders to define and deliver modern, cloud-native data platforms.

Alongside delivery, you will contribute to pre-sales, proposition development and the continued evolution of data architecture capability within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining and delivering end-to-end data architecture solutions
• Leading architecture teams across large-scale programmes
• Supporting pre-sales activities, including solution design and client engagement
• Bridging business requirements with technical delivery across data platforms
• Contributing to go-to-market propositions and practice development
• Engaging with senior stakeholders up to CIO / CDO level

Experience Required

• Strong background in data architecture, delivering enterprise-scale solutions
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern data architectures
• End-to-end data lifecycle experience, including ingestion, transformation, governance and consumption
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Experience in client-facing roles, ideally within consulting or professional services
• Exposure to pre-sales, bid support or solution shaping

Desirable Experience

• Experience with tools such as Snowflake, Databricks or modern ETL/ELT platforms
• Understanding of data governance, security and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR)
• Exposure to AI/ML or advanced analytics within data platforms
• Experience leading cross-functional teams
