Data Architect

Data Architect Up to £150,000 + Bonus North West (UK) I am partnering exclusively with a highly sophisticated, globally active investment organisation to appoint a Data Architect into a newly created data function. This is a rare opportunity to shape the foundation of a strategic, business‑critical data capability within a complex, fast‑moving environment.

As the Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining, designing, and overseeing the delivery of modern, cloud‑native data architecture across the organisation. The role demands both strategic vision and hands‑on technical depth, particularly within Azure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, cloud‑native data architectures on Microsoft Azure
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Ensure consistent representation of borrowers, counterparties, exposures, and asset‑level data
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineering teams to optimise pipelines, storage patterns, and performance
• Provide long‑term strategic guidance on data governance, modelling, and architecture maturity
• Support the build‑out of a new enterprise‑wide data capability with global impact

Required Experience

• 7+ years working with complex data models and unifying disparate datasets
• Strong background across financial data domains (e.g., transactions, market data, loan lifecycle, reference data)
• Demonstrable expertise designing and delivering enterprise‑grade data platforms in Azure
• Hands‑on experience with modern data modelling, data warehousing, and cloud architecture patterns
• Exposure to real estate, loan servicing or financial operating platforms is advantageous
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
