Azure Cloud Architect - PAYE or Umbrella

My client who is a Lloyds insurance group who is looking to cover a ongoing migration project. The team has spent the past eight months migrating applications into non-production environments on Azure, with the next phase involving migration of all production workloads.

• The architect will be expected to help make strategic adjustments to the Azure landing zone and support projects involving infrastructure as code, particularly the migration from an outdated version of Terraform to a supported one, potentially using Azure Verified Modules.
• This phase requires heightened attention to security and compliance.
• A future goal to migrate applications from AVS to cloud-native architectures to fully leverage cloud benefits, though the timing and feasibility of this transition remain uncertain due to business process dependencies and cost considerations.

Stakeholders

A small team including a project manager, a soon-to-join test manager, an external integration partner, a cloud
operations team, and various stakeholders such as the security and networking teams. The architect will need
to interact with all these groups and provide internal steering for the migration, as implementation is handled
by a third-party provider.

Top Key Skills - Essential

• Azure & AVS (Azure VMware Solution) migration experience
• 5 years’ experience as a senior architect focused on cloud migration projects
• Networking skills such as firewalls (Azure Firewalls, FortiGate)
• Infrastructure code – Terraform
• Hands on experience rather than advisory backgrounds
