Our client is seeking a seasoned Solution Architect to join their IT department within their Support Centre based in Greater Manchester. This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working arrangements, requiring only one day a week onsite. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and growing data team, benefitting from free onsite parking and easy access to public transport. You will ensure that all future systems are designed with security at their core, meeting both regulatory needs and company standards. You will lead the charge in building innovative solutions, facilitating workshops with the technical team to agree on architecture and designs. Furthermore, you will define and understand the relationships between all data sources, acting as a gatekeeper for the impact of future or proposed plans.
What you bring:
The ideal Solution Architect candidate brings over seven years' experience in migrating systems/data platforms from On Premise datacentre to Public Cloud (Azure preferred but not essential). You possess a strong understanding of cloud services for data storage, data catalogue/lineage, ETL, and pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and landing data. Your expertise lies in programming languages like Python and SQL for data processing. You have knowledge of implementing DevOps culture and SRE mindset for continuous optimisation. Your ability to work from a high level, conceptual viewpoint to define the overall business data strategy will be key to your success in this role.
