Chief Engineer - Strategy & Architecture

Our client is seeking an Enterprise Architect with a passion for leading teams and driving innovation to shape the future of financial services. What you will do:

You will lead a diverse team, fostering a culture of innovation, promoting a DevSecOps mindset, and driving digital transformation initiatives. Your strategic thinking, technical expertise, exceptional leadership skills will guide our engineering teams in delivering world-class solutions that are secure, scalable, and innovative.

• Lead and inspire a diverse engineering team to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration
• Drive creation of policies and standards as well as defining key measure and metrics
• Ensure that the technology and tooling choices support current and future business needs including growth into AI and other emerging technologies
• Work across the organisation as an engineering leader
• Influence delivery strategy and investment in future infrastructure, tooling and processes
• Guide engineering teams in delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions

What you bring:

You will bring a wealth of experience in leading diverse engineering teams within a digital transformation context. You will have practical experience developing cloud-native solutions, along with proven experience with DevSecOps practices. Your background includes working with both in-house and partner teams across various locations. Your ability to drive adoption of industry best practice horizontally across a matrix structure will be crucial to your success.

• Proven track record of successfully leading and transforming engineering teams in a digital transformation context
• Previous experience with AWS, Java/Python
• Experience of agile, scrum and kanban with application at an enterprise level
• Experience with DevSecOps practices
• Experience of leading in-house and partner teams across different locations including onshore and offshore technical development teams.
• Practical experience of developing cloud native solutions
• Experience of delivery automation and CI/CD pipelines
