Robert Walters are hiring for a Tax Manager, Policy and Advocacy for a leading blue-chip company with an office in Central London.
This is newly created full-time permanent role.
Working closely with the leadership team, the Tax Manager is responsible for tax advocacy work, working closely with government and legislative bodies in order to further good UK tax policy, and improve the tax code and tax ecosystem.
In addition to this, the Tax Manager will be responsible for producing tax content including articles and webinars, with the aim of providing educational content both internal and externally.
The business is looking for someone qualified (ACA / CTA / ACCA or equivalent) with either a mixed tax background, or with broad tax experience across personal tax and employment taxes.
This role would suit someone coming straight from the profession, or someone with prior in-house experience.
They are happy to consider candidates with a large practice background, but the role would also be a good fit for someone with a small practice background as it would suit their wider experience across multiple different taxes.
The role has two main areas of responsibility:
Tax Policy / Tax Advocacy – Working with legislators and government, NGOs, industry bodies, regulators and other interested groups with the aim of engendering and creating a better, fairer tax landscape and legislation in the UK
This involves attending meetings where you would represent the organisation in developing policy position on different tax matters, producing consultation responses, contributing to working groups, panels, white papers / green papers etc, writing thought leadership pieces, and some interaction with the press in terms of press releases and interviews on occasion.
Thought Leadership – Providing tax content to members on a range of different issues, for example technical pieces, discussing topical issues, new/developing legislation, updates on the policy/advocacy work etc. This content comes in the form of technical and topical updates, articles, webinars, contributing to newsletters, updating the website etc.
The role is based out of their Central London office but can support 3 days per week working from home.
The position comes with a salary of circa £75k-£80k (dependent on experience) plus benefits package including 9% pension contributions and family-level private healthcare.
As such this represents a really rare and interesting opportunity, not your typical role - One not to be missed!
