What you'll do:
As Head of International Tax based in London, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's approach to global taxation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve overseeing all aspects of international tax compliance—from statutory accounts to payroll taxes—while ensuring that partners' payments are reconciled accurately. You will collaborate closely with both internal teams and external advisors to identify efficient structures for cross-border transactions. By managing risks related to remote working and employment taxes, you will help maintain operational integrity across diverse locations. Your expertise will be called upon during strategic initiatives such as new office launches or changes in remuneration systems. You will also be responsible for preparing critical reports like Country by Country submissions and maintaining transfer pricing documentation. Through proactive communication with stakeholders at every level—including regulatory bodies—you will ensure that the firm remains compliant with evolving legislation while supporting its long-term commercial goals.
- Maintain an up-to-date tax strategy for the firm that aligns with industry best practices and supports overall business objectives.
- Oversee the efficient completion of all global tax compliance obligations, including income and corporation tax computations, VAT and sales taxes, payroll taxes, double tax relief claims, and timely tax payments.
- Review and reconcile partners' tax payments regularly to ensure accuracy and transparency across all jurisdictions.
- Manage and mitigate risks associated with international remote working by collaborating with the International Mobility team to track overseas workers and communicate policy decisions effectively.
- Take responsibility for employment taxes such as IR35 risk management, PSA and FBT reporting, as well as handling ad hoc employment tax issues as they arise.
- Prepare and submit annual Country by Country reports while ensuring notification requirements are met throughout the firm's network; maintain robust transfer pricing documentation globally.
- Identify key tax risks in partnership with senior finance leaders; assess, prioritise, communicate, and address these risks proactively to safeguard the firm's interests.
- Support quarterly RMAC papers on tax and partner finance topics for senior management review; provide expert advice on foreign exchange impacts, relocations, partnership entities, and other specific matters.
- Liaise with HMRC, ATO, and other relevant authorities to achieve appropriate risk ratings; negotiate positions as required while managing responses to global tax audits efficiently.
- Establish systems to monitor legislative changes in tax regulations (such as Pillar 2) and implement policies that ensure ongoing compliance with legal requirements.

Your background should include deep technical expertise spanning multiple jurisdictions such as the UK, US, Australia, among others. You will possess strong interpersonal skills that enable you to build relationships across diverse teams while communicating intricate concepts clearly. With an eye for detail matched by excellent organisational capabilities, you consistently deliver accurate results even under pressure. Your qualifications as an accountant or tax adviser underpin your credibility when advising on high-stakes matters affecting both partners and staff.
- Proven post-qualification experience in international tax within a partnership setting, ideally gained over more than ten years in a large organisation operating at a senior advisory level.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of international tax matters across UK, US, Australia, and other relevant jurisdictions pertinent to the firm's operations.

- Experience managing change within areas of responsibility by evaluating best practice processes and driving operational improvements.
- Meticulous attention to detail combined with a high degree of accuracy in all aspects of work.
