Job Responsibilities

• Lead the tax due diligence and structuring for acquisitions and disposals in Europe and UK, including the tax integration efforts for acquired businesses in the countries under purview.
• Keep abreast of changes and developments to the EU tax policy and regulations and evaluating the need for changes from an operational/holding structure perspective.
• Review cross border transactions and business arrangements from a tax technical standpoint and provide commercial recommendations to optimize the tax position.
• Support finance and business units with information and advice regarding all tax matters, occasionally redirecting or escalating requests.
• Reports directly to the Global Head of Tax.
• Manage the tax team based in Europe and oversee all Europe and UK tax compliance matters, which would encompass the following:

o Fulfilling tax filing obligations for the entities in Europe and UK in a timely manner.
o Preparation of tax records, reports, and other related materials in compliance with tax laws and regulations.
o Overseeing all tax audits and working with tax authorities to expediently resolve any outstanding issues and notices.

• Working with Overseas Headquarters on international compliance issues including country-by-country reporting, Pillar 2 and other BEPS related requirements.
• Provide tax technical support for tax provisions, ascertainment of tax payments and complex VAT matters.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and strategic execution.
• Support the implementation of global tax strategy and policies.
• Prepare and review reports and analysis and undertake ad-hoc projects as and when required.

Job Requirements

• Relevant experience in UK and European tax with excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and tax returns, including at least 5 years in a similar position of managing a tax team.
• Bachelor’s degree of related discipline or any professional accounting qualifications.
• Tax knowledge in the UK and various European countries (France, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Ireland) is essential.
• You should be meticulous, independent and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to rely on experience and judgement to lead and manage complex, concurrent projects in a fast-paced, changing environment with tight deadlines.
• M&A due diligence and integration experience strongly preferred.
• Candidates with broader range of European language skills will have an added advantage.
• Candidates with experiences in operating within an international tax organisation and/or Big 4 accounting firms will be preferred.
