Robert Walters are hiring for a Indirect Tax Specialist for a leading multinational airline group.

This is a full-time permanent role. The role is based in their UK head office in Luton, Bedfordshire, with remote working available.

The role comes with a salary of circa £40,000 to £45,000 plus a excellent benefits package including a 5% pension, 25 days holiday, up to 70% holiday discount, staff travel benefits and other travel perks.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy tax team. As a VAT Specialist, you will enjoy being able to advise and support on all matters related to Indirect Tax in both the UK and EU regions. This will cover VAT, passenger taxes and other indirect tax work.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing the current VAT processes and control framework, making changes where necessary to streamline the overall process.

• Training both finance and non-finance staff on all relevant VAT matters.

• Advising colleagues on VAT queries.

• Resolving issues that may arise from invoice processing.

• Staying up-to-date on changes related to Indirect Tax.

• Project management duties.

• Maintenance of VAT controls.

• Assisting internal functions with consideration of Indirect Tax implication from business changes.

These responsibilities will involve working closely with the Indirect Tax Manager and compared to many roles at this level, the position has a large amount of advisory / project work and business partnering.

They are looking for someone with:

• International VAT/Indirect tax experience but applicants with just UK VAT experience will also be considered.

• Strong Indirect tax advisory experience.

• Excellent technical skills.

• Exceptional numeracy and data analysis skills, plus good system skills (preferably with SAP and Excel).

You will be part-qualified or newly qualified, studying or qualified in either tax or accountancy qualifications ACA / ACCA / CTA / ICAS.
