VAT lead for the International Consumer Bank and Digital Products
The candidate in this role will be a key member of the Indirect Tax (VAT) team reporting to the EMEA head of VAT.
Job Summary:
As VAT lead for the International Consumer and Digital products this role will be responsible for planning, risk management and design and implementation with the business of VAT reporting in respect of non-US expansion and development of consumer banking and related offerings.
This will include
- working with the business to plan and manage VAT implications of the expansion
- reviewing new products and new location
- dealing with tax authorities or supporting local teams in doing so in respect of the international consumer business and other digital products
- providing guidance and working with the business and the VAT team to ensure integration of International Consumer into existing VAT reporting functions
- developing processes for cross-border VAT compliance in respect of digital products and implementing with the business
- partnering with the broader VAT team to apply consistent analysis and approach to the impact of VAT rules for digital product.
- partnering with the broader tax department to deliver comprehensive solutions for the business
- due diligence on any potential acquisitions in the International Consumer business and digital products where appropriate.
- managing advisors in respect of these products
- escalating risks within tax and the busines as appropriate.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Accounting, legal or tax qualification or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience of dealing with UK and international VAT in respect of FS issues and digital product.
- Experience dealing with tax authorities.
- A knowledge of VAT compliance requirements and processes.
