A unique opportunity has become available for an ambitious indirect tax specialist to join a leading financial services institution as Head of VAT at their London offices.
As Head of VAT for this global financial services institution, you will be accountable for the Group's indirect tax function. In particular, you will set out strategy and identify risk in relation to all indirect tax issues and will act as the lead in terms of planning and advisory across a European and global indirect tax portfolio. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- To manage all indirect tax strategy, risk and expenditure for the Group
- To consult and advise across a range of indirect tax matters to ensure accuracy and compliance with legislation
- To oversee and manage monthly accounts, budgets and forecasts, VAT and other indirect tax returns and annual particla exemption calculations
- To manage relationships with external tax authorities, external advisors and other divisions and regions across the Group
Coming from a background in indirect tax, the Head of VAT will be adept at building and maintaining relationships and will be dedicated to ensuring and increasing the credibility of the business. Additionally, the Head of VAT will build on previous experience gained within practice or within a similar financial services institution. Due to the global nature of this role, it is essential that candidates are able to demonstrate their knowledge of indirect tax matters outside of Europe.
