What you'll do:
As a UK Tax Accountant based in Woking, you will play an integral role in supporting the organisation’s financial operations by ensuring robust tax compliance across multiple entities. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with both the Group Head of Tax and the wider UK finance team. You will be responsible for preparing detailed corporation tax returns, managing communications with HMRC, calculating instalment payments, arranging tax settlements, and preparing statutory account figures. In addition to these core duties, you will contribute to forecasting efforts by calculating accurate tax estimates, work alongside external advisors on complex matters such as transfer pricing and international reporting requirements, and support broader compliance initiatives including Pillar 2 standards. Your success in this role will depend on your ability to manage large volumes of financial data using advanced Excel skills, maintain meticulous attention to detail under tight deadlines, and communicate effectively across departments. You will also have opportunities to participate in outreach programmes that mentor students or trainees as part of the company’s commitment to developing future talent.
- Prepare corporation tax returns for UK companies ensuring accuracy and compliance with current regulations.
- Manage correspondence with HMRC efficiently, addressing queries and resolving issues as they arise.
- Calculate quarterly instalment payments for tax obligations, maintaining precise records for audit purposes.
- Arrange timely tax payments while liaising with internal teams to ensure all deadlines are met without exception.
- Prepare current and deferred tax numbers for statutory accounts, collaborating closely with the UK finance team.
- Calculate tax estimates for forecasting purposes to support strategic decision-making within the organisation.
- Liaise regularly with external advisors to ensure best practice is followed in all areas of tax compliance.
- Prepare PAYE settlement agreement calculations accurately and submit them within required timeframes.
- Support Country by Country Reporting requirements by gathering data and preparing necessary documentation.
- Assist with Pillar 2 compliance and contribute to Transfer Pricing methodology and calculations as required.

Your technical expertise should encompass all aspects of UK corporate taxation along with strong analytical abilities supported by advanced Excel skills. - Relevant experience gained either in practice or within an in-house tax department is essential for this position; your background should demonstrate hands-on involvement with UK corporate taxation.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and finance systems is required; you must be comfortable analysing large volumes of data quickly and accurately.
- A solid understanding of core accounting principles as well as up-to-date knowledge of UK tax legislation is vital for success.
- Qualified or part-qualified status (CTA, ACA, CIMA) is desirable but not mandatory; candidates who are actively pursuing qualification are encouraged to apply.
- An interest in theatre or live entertainment would be beneficial as it aligns with the company’s mission and values.
- Strong interpersonal skills are needed; you should be able to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
