Corporate Tax Manager- Banking
This role is situated in the vibrant city of London, where you will be entrusted with the management of the company's tax matters across all taxes, encompassing all CIB and non-CIB businesses. What you'll do:
As a Manager of Taxation in the banking sector, your role will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of the company's financial affairs. You will be tasked with coordinating and overseeing the preparation of tax returns for various group companies, while also handling administrative requirements such as coordinating payments within the group and to HMRC. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring adherence to UK Tax Legislation and company policies. You will also oversee the quarterly process for preparing and reviewing CIB tax disclosures, providing valuable guidance and support to Finance departments on statutory tax disclosures.
- Oversee the preparation of tax returns for relevant group companies.
- Coordinate administrative requirements including payments to HMRC.
- Fulfil the role of Secretary for the UK Tax Committee.
- Ensure adherence to UK Tax Legislation and company policies.
- Oversee quarterly process for preparing and reviewing CIB tax disclosures.
- Provide guidance and support to Finance departments on statutory tax disclosures.
- Complete corporation tax computations and related administration.
- Manage quarterly corporation tax instalment process.
- Address non-CIB corporation tax queries.
- Serve as point of contact for all UK direct tax queries relating to CIB subsidiaries.

The ideal candidate for this Manager of Taxation role will bring a wealth of experience in both accounting and legal fields, with a specialism in taxation. Your ability to operate independently under tight deadlines will be crucial in this fast-paced environment. A detailed understanding of UK tax legislation is essential, along with knowledge of current and deferred tax accounting. Your analytical skills will be put to good use as you perform risk assessments of control issues, identify areas for improvement within our tax control framework, and articulate complex tax issues in a clear manner to non-tax specialists.
- Professional accounting or legal qualification with a specialism in taxation (e.g. ICAEW, CTA).
- Ability to operate independently under tight deadlines.
- Detailed understanding of UK tax legislation.
- Accounting knowledge including current and deferred tax accounting.
- Solid working knowledge of the international tax regime.
- Ability to perform risk assessment of control issues.
- Understanding of tax control framework including identifying areas for improvement.
- Ability to analyse complex tax issues clearly for non-tax specialists.
- Excellent PC skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
