Tax Specialist - 6 months contract

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a Tax Specialist to join their esteemed team in London. This role presents an engaging opportunity to manage tax liabilities, prepare tax forms, and oversee external filing/reporting. Your knowledge will be instrumental in understanding the implications of changes to laws and regulations on tax liabilities, tax structuring for merger and acquisition activity, transfer pricing, among others.

What you'll do:

As a Tax Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's taxation affairs. Your daily responsibilities will encompass overseeing the calculation of tax liabilities, preparing tax forms, managing external filing/reporting, and maintaining tax-specific transaction records. You will also be expected to undertake comprehensive tax research and analysis to ensure compliance and optimise the company's financial performance. Additionally, your role will involve liaising with external consultants on various tax matters.

  • Oversee the calculation of tax liabilities, tax form preparation, and external filing/reporting
  • Undertake tax research, analysis, and interpretation for compliance, planning, and optimisation purposes
  • Manage tax-specific transaction recording and records maintenance
  • Liaise with external consultants on tax matters including auditors, lawyers, and regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate with legal on legal entity maintenance from a tax perspective
  • Assist with various US tax projects for HQ as required

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Tax Specialist position brings relevant direct (corporate income) and indirect (VAT) experience in local jurisdictions. You should have experience with US parent company tax reporting (US GAAP & IFRS Financials). Your ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly will be essential in this role. While experience working in-house is ideal, it is not a requirement for this position.
