About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Retention Team Leader to join a market-leading Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and Occupational Health provider based in Manchester City Centre.
You’ll lead a high-performing Relationship Management / Client Retention team, playing a key role in retaining existing clients, identifying upsell opportunities, and developing team capability through coaching, mentoring, and performance analysis.
This role is ideal for a confident people leader who thrives in a fast-paced, fully onsite environment and enjoys balancing commercial outcomes with team development.

What you’ll be doing
As Retention Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for both people leadership and commercial performance, including:
- Leading, mentoring, and motivating a team of Relationship / Retention Executives
- Driving client retention, renewals, and upsell performance
- Conducting regular 1:1s, coaching sessions, and quality assurance reviews
- Setting and monitoring individual and team KPIs
- Analysing performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Supporting client and broker meetings around renewals and service delivery
- Coordinating training plans for new starters and ongoing development
- Promoting a collaborative, high-performance team culture
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience as a Retention Team Leader, Team Leader, Account Management Lead, or similar
- Strong background in client retention, relationship management, or customer success
- Confident people manager with coaching and mentoring experience
- Commercial mindset with experience driving upsell or revenue growth
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills (Excel essential)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working fully onsite in Manchester City Centre
