Our client is seeking a dynamic Head of Sales and Events to lead their team in Birmingham. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive income generation from event hire, including conferencing, room hire, and special events across varied spaces. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and have a proven track record in sales and business development. With a competitive salary of £35,000 on offer, this role presents a fantastic opportunity.

What you'll do:

As the Head of Sales and Events, your primary responsibility will be to drive income generation from event hire. You will continuously research the market to identify businesses or sectors currently under-represented in our client's base, developing strategies to reach these markets. Working closely with various teams within the organisation, you will understand and identify hire opportunities, developing plans and packages that drive business throughout the financial year. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to build relationships with the local business community, promoting venue hire spaces. You will also oversee the financial administration of the Events business, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Identify under-represented sectors in the client base and develop strategies to reach these markets
  • Work cross-organisationally to identify hire opportunities and develop plans to drive business
  • Engage with the local business community to promote venue hire spaces
  • Oversee financial administration of the Events business
  • Manage the Sales Team responsible for generating and converting enquiries
  • Champion excellent customer service and exceed customer expectations
  • Work with the Marketing team to deliver the Event Sales marketing plan

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Head of Sales and Events role will bring a wealth of experience in sales and business development roles. You will have strong experience in event management and operational delivery, as well as an understanding of event catering delivery. Your hands-on experience with venue management software will be crucial in this role. As a strong communicator with excellent influencing and negotiation skills, you'll know how to get the best out of colleagues. Your experience managing event sales and delivery teams will be key in leading your team towards success.
