Technology & Cyber Risk Manager (2nd Line)

I am working with a leading, London‑based financial services firm , looking for a Technology & Cyber Risk Manager to join its 2nd Line Non‑Financial Risk function.

The role

• Provide 2nd Line oversight of technology, cyber and change risk across the group.​

• Engage daily with 1st Line technology, security and change teams to advise, challenge and support delivery.​

• Monitor technology and cyber risks, ensuring they are appropriately articulated and escalated to senior forums and committees.​

• Assess how tech/cyber risks are managed across business units and where key vulnerabilities and threats could realistically arise.​

• Focus on technology and operational resilience for core platforms, and on protecting the confidentiality and integrity of critical data and systems.​

• Help ensure frameworks, policies and controls are implemented effectively in practice.​

About you

• Strong background in technology and/or cyber risk within financial services, preferably markets, clearing, exchanges or banking.​

• Solid understanding of risk and control design, with familiarity with relevant frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, DORA, operational resilience regimes).​

• Experience operating in a 2nd Line or closely related risk/governance role, or in a 1st Line tech/cyber role with significant risk oversight responsibilities.​

• Pragmatic, “sell not tell” style: able to influence, challenge and support senior stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships.​

• Comfortable working in a lean function, rolling up your sleeves and balancing strategic oversight with hands‑on support
